Turmeric Matcha Latte
This turmeric matcha latte is one of my favorite fall and winter beverages, especially because it helps boost focus and productivity, without tapping my resources the way coffee tends to do. A rich source of antioxidants, matcha helps neutralize harmful free radicals, reduces cell damage, and prevents chronic diseases. It also helps improve alertness while reducing the risk of heart disease. Turmeric contains the powerful antioxidant curcumin, which studies show has anti-inflammatory effects on the brain and body. I like to make this recipe in bulk by multiplying the dry ingredients (the first four ingredients) by 6 and then scooping out 1 1/2 tsp per serving. It makes a great gift this way and also saves you time in the mornings when you’re in a hurry to get out the door!
Ingredients
1 tsp matcha powder, to taste
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp turmeric
1/8 tsp ginger
1/2 cup water, boiled
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
honey, to taste
Directions
Add the matcha powder, cinnamon, turmeric, and a ginger to a large mug. Pour the hot water over them and whisk until combined. Heat up the milk in a small pot on the stove until it begins to foam. Add the milk to the matcha blend and whisk in the honey. Enjoy!
